a) HARDY A CAPTAIN: no report available
b) HARDY B CAPTAIN: Four league match have been played with losses to Knighton Heath (3/2); Yeovil (4 ½ /1 ½); Bridport (4/1) and Ashley Wood (4 ½ / ½). Having been promoted last year the team is relegated this year. Simon expressed his thanks to all who have played for the team this year.
c) 3CL CAPTAIN: The team beat Cricket St Thomas at home 5/0 and are now 3rd in the table. There is a crucial game away to Long Sutton this weekend.
d) SENIORS CAPTAIN: Since the last meeting we have played 7 matches with 3 wins at home; 2 losses away and 2 ties (1 away and 1 at home). We have 6 more matches to play in what has so far been a very successful year. Senior Captains Day this year will be on Tuesday 25 September.
e) CLUB CAPTAIN: There is nothing of note to report except to congratulate everyone on a good year so far and say ‘keep up the good work’! Captains Day this year will be on Saturday 29 September.
a) DCGU inter-club mens foursomes: Entrants will be invited and if more than two people enter a draw will be held.
b) Day Away 2018: The day was enjoyed by all. Ben was very happy with the way Knighton Heath treated us – the food was good and they brought out extra when needed. The course was good. There is thought of going back again next year.
c) Weekend Away 2018: Only the pairings for the hotel remains to be sorted.
d) A free drop is allowed if a ball comes to rest through the green in a crack caused by the current dry weather
e) The Centre has changed its logo but the Committee agreed that the Club should keep its logo unchanged.
f) After complaints about slow play members are requested to encourage their playing partners to speed up e.g. not mark cards when it is their honour and let people through if there is a gap ahead.
g) Andy is putting in a ‘French Drain’ on the 8th to help with drainage during the winter.
h) From 1st January 2018 CONGU have introduced Category 5 handicaps for men and Category 6 for men and women providing for a maximum competition handicap of 54.0. Handicap software should automatically adjust for this.
